UES uses a variety of commercialization and transition models from creating subsidiaries and associated spin-off enterprises, floating IPOs, and licensing technologies.

The following are examples of commercialization/transition successes:

• Robo-Met.3D™ – a fully automated serial sectioning system for three-dimensional microstructural investigations
• TitanCoat™ – advanced coating used to increase the life of core pins and other parts in the die casting industry
• KI Shell™ – a work flow process management software used in finance, manufacturing, software engineering and production process design
• ProCAST™ – a software product providing simulations for casting and process designs; ProCAST™ has become the industry standard
• Ruggedized portable command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) systems for military applications (Paravant, Inc.)
