Our Goals Are:
1. To enhance biotechnology and biomanufacturing awareness in the Dayton area.
2. To educate students on related career and education opportunities.
3. To bridge the gap between current curricula and industry-relevant skills.

Biotechnology is a diverse field that includes tools and techniques that let us use biology to solve problems and make useful products.
Biomanufacturing uses biological components or living organisms such as bacteria, yeast, and algae to make new products or replacements for current products that are more sustainable and environmentally friendly than current processes.
Biomanufacturing Trailblazers: June 15-26th
(Monday through Friday, 9a-4p)
For rising 10th, 11th, or 12th graders with some prior experience with biotechnology or advanced biology. Students passionate or interested in learning more about biotechnology and biomanufacturing opportunities are encouraged to participate.
Participants must have taken and passed high school level biology.
There is no cost to attend this program.
Lunch, snacks/drinks, lab supplies, and camp t-shirts will be provided.
Camp will take place on the Wright State University campus.
Free transportation will be available from central pick-up locations for those who need it. Parking passes will be provided for students who can drive themselves.
Students are expected to attend all ten days of camp, for the full day from 9am to 4pm.
Family and friends are invited and encouraged to attend student demonstrations on the final day of the program!
Camp attendance will be limited to 12 participants.
Experience daily, hands-on lab activities including a large variety of biotechnology techniques
Learn about local education opportunities in the field
Meet scientists and other professionals in the field
Explore potential careers in the field
Visit Primient, a local biomanufacturing facility
Glimpse college life through interactions with college students and presence on a college campus
Practice skills required for student success in school and career
Students may obtain up to 70 hrs
of work-based learning.
