Improved Rotorcraft Transmission Survivability Under Loss-of-Lubrication

on August 1, 2013

The loss of the primary lubrication system in a power transmission system can result in an immediate, rapid failure of the drive systems in both military air and ground vehicles. This proposal offers a combination of two innovative and cost-effective technologies to improve the ability of power transmissions in withstanding operation under loss-of-lubrication conditions for significantly longer periods of time. The goal of the Phase I program is to demonstrate the feasibility of such proposed technologies under real world conditions.
