Dimensional Restoration of Aircraft Components Damaged by Corrosion

on January 25, 2014

Current methods for restoration of corrosion-affected aircraft components in the Air Logistic Complex are in need of process and equipment improvement. This proposal offers to perform research to identify and characterize aircraft components/areas requiring dimensional restoration as well as to identify restoration requirements. It also offers to demonstrate the feasibility of improved technologies for on-site dimensional restoration of aircraft components that have been damaged by corrosion.

BENEFIT: Successful completion of the proposed work will provide technologies for on-site damage restoration of aircraft components damaged by corrosion. These technologies can be utilized for both military and commercial applications.
