I’m very happy to be joining the biomarker discovery team within the Integrative Health & Performance Sciences division. My background is in mass spectrometry, and I received my PhD in analytical chemistry at the University of North Texas. Previously I was a Field Applications Scientist focusing on the detection of lipids and metabolites, so this position is a great fit. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, playing tennis, listening to podcasts, going to comedy clubs, and spending time with my husband and our corgi, Grandpa.
What are your career goals?
I’d like to contribute to metabolite biomarker discovery that leads to a real-time detection device that can help our military members in the field.
What achievements are you most proud of?
In graduate school, I developed a new technique for analyzing the contents of individual organelles from cell cultures.
What is the best advice you've ever heard?
The best advice I have ever heard is to laugh at yourself. Seriously, don’t take yourself so seriously!
